Handmade Kiyomizu tableware set.
The fine vertical stripe pattern is called Tokusa, named after a slender plant that resembles bamboo and symbolizes strength and good fortune. Traditionally used for polishing due to its tough texture, it’s also known as "grinding grass."
Though the design is familiar, Kiyomizuyaki craftsmen take great care in its execution. Each groove is hand-carved and filled with black pigment, while the white and black stripes are delicately hand-painted to ensure a smooth, flawless finish. The base is thoughtfully shaped for a comfortable grip, enhancing the feel and balance of the bowl in your hands.
This beautifully crafted, elegant set adds a touch of luxury to any meal.
